The bodywork remained similar to that of the previous R1, although a 3% reduction in the drag coefficient was achieved. Īt 127.8 hp (95.3 kW) at the rear wheel, top-end output remained the same, but changes to the engine management system were intended to result in a smoother, broader distribution of power. The dry weight was reduced five pounds to 414 lb (188 kg). Yamaha's main design goal was to sharpen the pre-existing bike and not to redesign it. In 2000, Yamaha introduced a series of changes to improve the R1, and minor changes to the bodywork to allow for better long-duration ride handling. Fuel tank reserve capacity was reduced from 5.5 to 4.0 L (1.21 to 0.88 imp gal 1.5 to 1.1 US gal), while total fuel tank capacity was unchanged at 18 L (4.0 imp gal 4.8 US gal). Improvements included a redesigned gear change linkage and an increase in gear change shaft length. The 1999 R1 saw only minor changes, apart from paint and graphics. The Yamaha YZF-R6 was introduced in 1999 as the 600 cc version of the R1 super bike. The exhaust used Yamaha's Exhaust Ultimate Power Valve (EXUP) system, which controlled exhaust gas flow to maximize engine power production at all revs, resulting in a high-power and high-torque engine. The instrument panel was electronic, with a self diagnosis system and digital speed readout. The R1 was also equipped with a 41 mm KYB upside-down front fork and 300 mm semi-floating disc brakes. Four 40 mm Keihin CV carburetors fed fuel to the engine. The swingarm could be made longer without compromising the overall wheelbase, which was a short 1,385 mm (54.5 in). Compacting the engine made it much shorter, allowing the wheelbase to be shortened as well and the center of gravity to be optimized. This "stacked gearbox" was followed by other manufacturers. Yamaha launched the YZF-R1 in 1998 after redesigning the Genesis engine to create a more compact engine by raising the gearbox input shaft and allowing the gearbox output shaft to be placed beneath it. It's basically Quake4Kids.Īll of that being said the game from a programmers perspective is just done, its not done properly - its just done. Sure - The game is fun if you want to click on heads in insta CTF, but as a game that you can take seriously like Quake Live or Warsow, its a joke. Some people said "it was an imbalanced game mode" - Yeah fuck off thats why it requires more skill than your shit modes that basically give you all that you want on a silver spoon where yes, it is balanced, but it isn't rewarding or fun. Once I finally persuaded some people to play Free For All (Or as we know it: A real duel where you pick up items) - It was actually sorta enjoyable. Quickly, someone delete this game from the internet, fuck it - delete the internet too. Gametypes: For 1on1 - You play either Insta or Efficiency, efficiency is basically clan arena, just that you can damage yourself. Why are there these community maps that are absolutely vile and disgusting in the game as official maps? It breaks my mind. You had lower scores (Usually you have a 60-50 game), and you had more fun moving around the map looking for your opponent. I remade Aerowalk and Quake ones DM4 in Sauerbraten - Guess what, they played a lot better. The maps in Sauerbraten are poorly thought out. Whenever I dueled in Sauerbraten I would say instantly "No Turbine" because that map drove me insane. Its the kind of map that you would play a 3 minute duel on to practice aiming just that in Sauerbraten people play maps like these where you can camp in one corner and just rack up the frags. It's a big arena, its not suitable for duels. If you take a look at one map named Turbine, which is the most popular map in Sauerbraten. 30 damage per one round, 300 is the max damage per second. Wide angle, yet less damaging than DooM 2's SSG.Ĭhaingun - This is your lightning gun from Quake, just with spread added onto it which makes it balanced in some aspect. Shotgun - Does 20 damage per 10 slugs that it fires in one go It's like DooM 2's Super shotgun. It does 75 damage and reloads every half a second. On maps with hills you can shoot down a hill, it'll then collide with the edge at the bottom and then return back up the hill at full speed. Grenade Launcher - This is basically the most fucked up weapon in the game, if you experiment with this gun you will find out that the physics of the projectiles are seriously fucked up and need to be fixed. It does 120 damage and reloads every 0.8 seconds. Rocket Launcher - This is technically related to Quake ones rocket launcher, splash damage wise. OP as fuck and so fun to use in combinations, just like in Quake 3 CPMA. Rifle - This is your Quake 2 railgun, it does 100 damage and is hitscan. Pistol - This is basically your blaster from Quake 2, slow fire and small damage, you spawn with it instantly alongside with your Melee weapon. Even the developer states so in the documentation. The weapons are blatantly based off weapons from Quake one and Quake two. You have the Yellow Armor that gives you 200 armor and the Green armor that gives you 100 armor. Theres nothing unique about the game in its gameplay. Gameplay wise, it's a poorly done rip off Quake. Theres probably two people in the Sauerbraten community that are actual people and deserve more respect than that of what they get. It's basically a third world country with handicapped cancer patients and children who have probably been sexually abused. They don't take themselves seriously and if you say something like "cube 2 is shit" - you're warranted a ban on the IRC channels by some Italian that has skin as thin as a sheet of paper. Sauerbraten has probably the most obnoxious community I've ever seen. Take it like this you got ESR, then you got Sauerbraten. The game's community is also really awful too. The movement system is a bit disgusting, its very limited and is easy to learn, easy to master, all you do is tap space bar and hold +forwards - That being said there isn't much in the way of air control and within 3 jumps you're at maximum speed. I've been playing it recently (2-3 months ago) and got into one of the (top?) clans just by talking, the game is absolutely dire. What comes to mind is guys with forklifts moving bullion from one part of a warehouse to another, into the account of another silver market participant. That makes five vaults in total with subcustodians operating three. Transportation costs would presumably also present a problem.Īccording to the Inspection of Silver Bullion document on the SLV website (dated July 2010), there are two vaults operated by JPM, two vaults operated by Brinks Global Services, and one vault operated by Via Mat International. How is it possible for the SLV to buy and sell such large quantities of silver on a daily basis when no one else, it seems, can do so? It's expensive to procure physical silver, and usually takes much longer than a day. Here is a chart of the trust's silver holdings since the start of April (click to enlarge): For example, they decreased their holdings by 33 metric tons on Thursday.Īll the data is available on the iShares website in the left hand column. Silver coins at shops like the American Precious Metals exchange sell for a premium of over 9%.Īdd these two together and it seems really weird that the SLV can increase and reduce its silver holdings daily seemingly with no trouble. Sprott's fund has traded in recent days at about a 20% premium to the spot price. Second, the silver shortage has caused premiums for the physical metal to skyrocket. Various mints, including the US Mint, are also unable to get sufficient supplies. Eric Sprott, who runs, among other things, a physical silver fund ( PSLV), has commented often in the recent past on how hard it is to buy physical silver in large amounts. Here are two.įirst, there is a silver shortage. People are suspicious of the SLV for a number of reasons. It also brings to mind the often quoted phrase, "never believe anything until it's been officially denied." It's also reminiscent of the other Wall Street CEOs saying everything was great and they didn't need to borrow any money while they were borrowing billions and teetering on the edge of insolvency. This reminds me of the CEOs of Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers saying everything is fine shortly before their banks collapsed. According to Zero Hedge, Kevin Feldman, managing director of iShares, issued a refutation of the rumors that the SLV contains no physical silver. Mainstream media hasn't weighed in on one side or another, but the blogosphere and Youtube are full of various accusations and speculation.Īn interesting thing happened a day or so ago. The controversy is whether there is a vault that actually contains the amount of silver iShares says it does. Because the holders of iShares are not parties to the custodian agreement, their claims against the custodian may be limited. It is responsible for holding the trust's physical silver in its vaults. It is responsible for the day to day administration of the trust, including processing orders, coordinating with the custodian, calculating the net asset value of the trust, and selling the trust's silver to pay for expenses. The trustee is Bank of New York Mellon ( BK). It assumes certain marketing and administrative expenses of the trust. It arranged for the creation of the trust and its listing on the NYSE Arca. The sponsor, iShares, is a subsidiary of BlackRock ( BLK). Three main parties are responsible for the SLV. That is, there's supposed to be a vault somewhere with a bunch of physical silver and each share of the SLV is supposed to represent about an ounce. Is for the value of the shares of the iShares Silver Trust to reflect, at any given time, the price of silver owned by the iShares Silver Trust at that time, less the iShares Silver Trust's expenses and liabilities. The objective of the exchange traded fund, according to the iShares website: The iShares Silver Trust ( NYSEARCA: SLV) has been the subject of controversy since it first started trading.
